Bio: Amy Martin, a life-long Texan, has forged a varied career in journalism laced with activism and leadership. A journalist and writer for over 30 years, she is currently North Texas Wild columnist for GreenSource DFW and author of Itchy Business: How to Treat the Poison Ivy and Poison Oak Rash, Prevent Exposure and Eradicate the Plant. Martin assists with online communications for Native Prairies Association of Texas and its Blackland chapter. For a dozen years, she also operated a popular alternative news service called Moonlady News, earning her the nickname Moonlady. This hike merges her two greatest nature obsessions: the Moon and prairies.
Native Prairie Walks Apr/May 2018
The North Texas Chapter of Texas Master Naturalists has organized a series of discovery walks in prairies and parks in Dallas County during April and May, 2018.
The walks will generally be one hour long, and will be lead by expert walk leaders with knowledge of plants, grasses, birds, insects, amphibians, and geology depending on the type of walk scheduled.
