Hands-On Organic Gardening at Cibolo Nature Center (AT) Saturdays, September 9 and 16, 2017  2:00 PM – 5:00 PM Hands-On Organic Gardening is a 2-part short course for beginner and intermediate vegetable gardeners. Attendees will learn how to design, install and maintain an organic garden, including hands-on experience preparing beds for planting, installing a drip irrigation system, and planting a garden.

Day 1: Garden design, fencing, raised beds, container gardens, drip soil preparation, amendments, trellises, hands-on creating a garden bed and trellis.
Day 2: Irrigation design, water efficiency, plant selection, perennials, seed starting, direct seeding and plugs, tools, fertilizing, treating insects and pathogens, hands-on installing an irrigation system and planting seeds and plugs.
