Annual Summer Social
Celebrating Our 20th Anniversary!

Please join your fellow master naturalists for an old-fashioned picnic and ice cream social as we celebrate our 20th year as a Chapter of the Texas Master Naturalist Program. The Summer Social will be held at Texas Discovery Gardens at Fair Park where we will have lots of activities including touring the gardens.
Once again, the social is a pot luck dinner where members bring what they enjoy to share with everyone.
Volunteer opportunities for “2018 NTMN Summer Social” are now open. Please click on the following web link (or copy it into your web browser if clicking doesn’t work) to go to the signup sheet:

Homemade Ice Cream Making Contest
If you have a favorite homemade ice cream recipe, please bring it on! This year we are inviting members to make a batch of their best homemade ice cream and bring it for our judges to taste. There will be 3 categories—Vanilla, Fruit, and Fusion (where you can really be creative). After the judging, everyone will get to taste the entries as long as the ice cream lasts.
In addition to great food and fellowship, we’ll have several other activities in and around Texas Discovery Gardens. Ice cold watermelon and cherries will be available for the annual seed spitting contest, which is always one of the highlights. We will also have many displays of historical items from our 20 years as a chapter.
