As we head into our last weeks of 2018, and as this is my last edition, I wanted to write a quick note of thanks to our North Texas Master Naturalist members for giving me the opportunity to be your newsletter editor for the past two years.

Being a full-time professional, and one in media (which is a demanding industry within itself), I find it difficult to find the time to engage in all my hobbies, interests, and groups. Having the Dragonflyer editor position was a great way to volunteer my time to the Texas Master Naturalist program, albeit sometimes late at night or during my lunch hour. It gave me a way to feel part of the chapter, a way to get to know our members from afar, and a way to understand what we had accomplished and what was coming up next for us. I would point out to anyone that has demands that keep them from coming to meetings or workdays or events, that there is still so much to do, and it can be done in many ways.

I look forward to putting the time I allocate to our Chapter each month to our video committee in 2019, and really pushing our visual media into exposure that not only benefits our chapter and the program, but also shows the value of each and every one of us doing what we can for our natural world. I now hand off the Dragonflyer editor duties to Dorothy Buechel, the focus of our Member Spotlight article in this edition. I know she will continue to bring great ideas to showcasing our chapter news.
