Fellow NTMN members,
As you may recall from the survey research we did last November, attendance at General Meetings has strained the capacity of the AgriLife Building. That strain will become even more apparent when the new 2015 class starts attending, since they number 80+, by far the largest class ever (35% more than the 52 for last year).
A Board Committee has been investigating other locations, and has looked into 10+ sites to date. Four sites have been found that meet our rough criteria of being able to have food, and can be scheduled on Wednesday evening.
These locations are:
Brookhaven College
3939 Valley View Lane (off Marsh Lane)
Building H
Farmers Branch 75244
Lovers Lane United Methodist Church, Watson Hall
9200 Inwood Rd. (at Northwest Hwy)
Dallas 75220
Texas A&M AgriLife Research and Extension Center
17360 Coit Rd. (at McCallum Blvd.)
Dallas 75214
The Point at CC Young Senior Living Center
4847 West Lawther Dr. (at Northwest Hwy)
Dallas 75214
It has further been decided to experiment with a “summer migration” that will expose us to each of the venues, beginning next month. We will experiment by having General Meetings at four separate locations over the next few months. We will then do a member survey to inquire about desirability of these sites.
The schedule will be as follows:
Brookhaven College for March 4 meeting – Building H
Lovers Lane United Methodist Church – Watson Hall for April 1
AgriLife Research Extension for May 6
CC Young Senior Living Center – The Point for June 3
The time remains unchanged. That is 6:30 PM for eat & greet, 7:00 PM for the meeting.
See you there, and there, and there, and there!
