October Program: City of Dallas “One Water” Program & the future of the Trinity Watershed

Date: Wednesday, October 3, 2018

Location: Brookhaven College

Please join us for a presentation by Terry Lowery and Sarah Standifer of the City of Dallas who will give us an overview of the City’s “One Water” and the future management of creeks, channels, and the Trinity River in Dallas.  As the Trinity River is an important part of the NTMN programs this informative session will provide us information we can all use.

Because we anticipate a lot of questions please, feel free to submit your questions in advance to programs@ntmn.org.

Dallas Water Utilities (DWU) will serve as the City’s “One Water” system for all water-related activities. Thus, allowing the City to manage watersheds, water resources, and water facilities in an environmentally, economically, and socially beneficial manner. By consolidating storm water drainage, water supply, and wastewater utilities, Dallas will better align itself with national standards and take a holistic approach to planning, operating, and anticipating future needs for its water system. Functions related to environmental inspection activities will be absorbed by the Office of Environmental Quality and Sustainability.
