Bear Creek Ranch is near Aledo in Parker County.  Ask Jeff for directions.

Jeff Quayle of the Fort Worth chapter of Native Prairies Association of Texas & Texas Master Naturalists will lead a prairie hike at Bear Creek Ranch.  Owned by the Dixon Water Foundation, this 1,700 acre ranch is an excellent example of a Grand Prairie remnant, supporting deep-soiled tallgrass prairie, limestone outcrops, & creek habitat along Bear Creek.  Come see this rare example of a Grand Prairie site, also locally known as the Fort Worth Prairie.  In 2014, Texas Parks & Wildlife Department awarded Bear Creek Ranch with their 2014 Lone Star Land Steward award.

Public event (FYI) – JEV 3/28/15
