Dallas County Lepidopterists Society Field Trip
Saturday, June 9, 2018 10:00 AM – 11:30 AM
Dallas County Lepidopterists will travel to John Wilt’s property in Ellis County on Saturday, June 9. The 100-acre property has trails through prairies/meadows and wooded bottomlands and will be a new place for us to see swallowtails and other species. Free and open to all.
Bring water and insect repellent; sulfur will be available for warding off chiggers. Bring your camera, binocs, or net, and let’s go see what’s on the wing!
Location: 1127 Stacks Road, Ennis, TX 75119
Directions: Take I-45 south. Exit at #266, FM 660. Continue down exit road to second stop sign. Turn left onto FM 660 South. Continue FM 660 for 8 miles. Town of Bristol sign will appear. Next is a funny intersection. FM 660 makes a 90-degree right turn – no stop sign. Stacks Road will be the left turn at this intersection. About 2 miles after that left turn is 1127 Stacks Road on the left. The gate will be open; just park on the grass. (Look for white pickup with the butterfly net sticking up.)
