This class on grasses is taught by Rich Jaynes of the Blackland Prairie Master Naturalist chapter. Rich says that in order to identify a grass you must have a match of at least three things: morphology, location, and time of year, if flowering. The course will be taught in three sessions, all at 9-11 AM:
The sessions will build upon each other, so it would be important for anyone interested to attend all three.
Please bring to class: 10-power hand lens, finely tapering tweezers, and a needle probe (can be made from a small dowel with a needle stuck in backwards).
Location: Cedar Ridge Preserve, 7171 Mountain Creek Parkway, Dallas 75249
