The Fort Worth Chapter of Native Prairies Association of Texas meets on 2nd Mondays.
Prairie Seekers – Prairie Assessment & Mapping Program
Prairie Seekers is a new prairie assessment & mapping program that the Fort Worth chapter of NPAT is developing & testing in the 14-county region. Volunteers have been busy developing a quantifiable datasheet that can be used by volunteers to assess prairie sites. The chapter will develop a training series that will be rolled out in 2016. Data collected will be prioritized & the information will be passed along to the Texas Parks & Wildlife Department’s prairie database; which can be used to identify future conservation opportunities.
