TOEA State Workshop (AT) Friday-Sunday, September 29 – October 1, 2017  The Texas Outdoor Education Association will hold their state workshop September 29 – October 1. The workshop is for teachers, college professors, people who work at parks and nature centers, and others who teach kids using the outdoors as a setting. The workshop consists of sessions on how to teach outdoor skills such as using GPS, archery, kayaking, wildlife, outdoor journaling, etc.; and math and science concepts such as using geometry to estimate distances, fossils, Blackland prairie, the Home on the Range science-based curriculum, and others. See attachment below for list of sessions. The applicable TEKS are presented for each session.

The workshop is held at the HEB Foundation Camp in the Frio River Canyon at Leakey, southwest of Kerrville.

Saturday, Sept. 30, 8:15 AM – 11:00 PM
Sunday, Oct. 1, 8:30 AM – 11:30 AM

Fee: $160; includes lodging and meals.
