Texas Stream Team Core Methods Class

Required training for new Aquatic Alliance for Stream Team volunteers will be held on April 11 at Trinity River Audubon Center. (This training will also be offered on July 11 and October 10.)

The Level 1 class of the Native Landscape Certification Program, Introduction to Native Landscapes, will be held April 18 in Denton. This class covers the benefits of including and preserving native plants in landscapes and building wildlife habitat; distinguishing between sustainable and conventional development; and the Texas ecoregion, including soil type. The class consists of an indoor training session and a 2-hour outdoor plant walk. The class is sponsored by the Native Plant Society of Texas (NPSOT).

Fee: $45

Project WILD, a Texas Parks and Wildlife project, is “Wildlife in Learning Design.” It is a set of wildlife-based conservation and environmental education programs for students Kindergarten through Grade 12. It emphasizes awareness, appreciation and understanding of wildlife and natural resources. It can be used by classroom teachers, environmental educators, park and nature center personnel, and anyone who works with children.

The Aquatic WILD program includes water science and aquatic habitats activities for children KN-12th grade.

Fee $10, for parking (Workshop is funded by TASA and TASB.)
