Native Plant Rescue at Becks Prairie

By Amy Martin, Fall Class 2018

The first native-plant rescue at Becks went well with about a dozen folks helping. Only one neighbor inquired and they responded positively when our rescue operation was explained. A few new prairie and plant experts have jumped in to assist and I am so excited for their mentorship. In case you missed it, my article on Becks with background on our efforts can be found here

Connemara Conservancy is anchoring a plant rescue on November 15.  Little bluestem seeds are ready! Sideoats grama and Eryngo are plentiful.

We’ll be scheduling more rescue operations soon.
